About Our Chapter

ASID Florida North Chapter celebrates design, inspiring and enriching its members and community through knowledge, experiences and relationships. ASID is a community of people committed to interior design, from the brightest newcomers to the wisest pioneers. We are driven by our love for design in the service of people. We have the courage to intentionally examine our failures as well as celebrate our successes and in the process demonstrate the power of design to positively change people's lives.

Our chapter is made up of nearly 600 practicing members. Both professional designers and industry partners, our members serve the residential and commercial design needs of Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Pensacola, Vero Beach/Cocoa Beach, and Orlando and their surrounding communities. In addition the chapter has over 400 student members who benefit from the educational, professional development and mentoring opportunities available through the ASID.

About the American Society of Interior Designers

The American Society of Interior Designers is headquartered in Washington D.C. and has 48 chapters throughout the United States and more than 450 international members.

Founded in 1975 with the consolidation of the American Institute of Decorators (AID) and the National Society of Interior Designers (NSID), the American Society of Interior Designers is the oldest, largest and leading professional organization for interior designers. Professional members of ASID must pass rigorous acceptance standards: they must have a combination of accredited design education and/or full-time work experience and pass a two-day accreditation examination administered by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ)

ASID promotes professionalism in interior design services and products for the workplace and home, and conducts independent research on topics related to the practice and business of the profession including materials, technology, building codes, government regulations, flammability standards, design psychology and product performance.
